The following is a list of courses available at Health Tech of Georgia. Click on the links for additional information about each course. Low-interest payment plans are available for most courses.
Requirements, Enrollment and
Students must be 18 years of age, be in good health and have a high school diploma or GED in order to receive a certificate. Application may take place at any time. Registration and enrollment will be based on available space for each session.
Home Health Aide
Comprehensive training in essential skills with emphasis on special needs of the ill and disabled person in the home setting.
Certified Nursing Assistant
Provides knowledge and skills for care of the elderly, ill and disabled in long term care facilities, hospitals and personal care homes. Eligible for State certification upon completion.
Introduces the student to a large vocabulary of medical language. Prerequisite for all advanced programs.
Electrocardiograph (ECG) Technician
Develops skills in performing electrocardiographs used in physician's offices and hospitals.
Expands knowledge of basic electrocardiography to include rhythm interpretation
Patient Care Associate (PCA)
Skills acquired in this course will prepare students to practice in hospitals as a multi-skilled allied health care professional
Prepares students to assist pharmacists in retail pharmacies and hospitals
Teaches basic venipuncture skills for a career in laboratories, hospitals and physician's offices
Medical Office Specialist
A comprehensive program covering the administration and clinical skills required in physicians' offices and hospitals
Students will advance their knowledge and skills to perform with professional competency in medical offices and clinics
Medical Billing & Coding
Introduces the basic principles and application of ICD-9-CM and CPT codes for diagnoses and medical services required for insurance reimbursement. Prepares students for a career in a variety of health care settings
Basic Anatomy & Physiology
Offers fundamentals on the structure and function of all body systems
Provides a review of fundamental math skills needed by medical professionals
Computer - Basic (Windows Essentials)
Teaches a wide variety of basic Windows computer skills used in medical and business offices, as well as for personal use
