Course Description

Pharmacy Technician

Prepares students to assist pharmacists in independent pharmacies and hospitals with technical tasks such as filling prescriptions and other distributive duties.

Primary emphasis is on a wide knowledge of drugs and accuracy in dispensing. Students will learn medical terminology, drug calculation, correct dosage forms, basic pharmacology (drug actions, interactions and side effects), and the assistants role in the medical profession.

Clinical practice will be conducted in local retail pharmacies and hospitals.

• Lab coat and school uniform required
• Clinical practice as scheduled
